We were represented at the RMK nature conservation conference with a poster presentation
The LIFE IP ForEst&FarmLand project participated in the RMK nature conservation conference, which this time focused on the restoration of habitats and populations, with a poster presentation on the restoration of 3,500 ha of deciduous forests in bogs, 100 small bodies of water and 20 coastal meadows.
In the main programme, Raul Rosenvald, researcher of sustainable forestry at the University of Tartu, spoke about the selection process of wet forest restoration sites and Virve Sõber, researcher of entomology at the Institute of Ecology and Earth Sciences, University of Tartu, who is leading the development of the pollinator action plan in the project, spoke on the topic ‘What makes a good habitat for pollinators?’ Aveliina Helm, Professor of Ecology at the University of Tartu, gave a very interesting workshop on the topic ‘Where and what trees to plant in Estonia?’, which in turn ties in well with the active measures of private forestry that we are also developing in the course of the LIFE IP ForEst&FarmLand project.
